The Equestrian Club is a team of women who train and compete year round, seeking to provide Hillsdale College students with the opportunity to experience the joy of riding horses, improve their horsemanship skills, and compete in the hunter-jumper style.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Equestrian Club seeks to provide Hillsdale College students with the opportunity to experience the joy of riding horses as well as affording participants the chance to improve their horsemanship skills and compete in the hunter-jumper style. The Equestrian Club will maintain a team environment that operates within the guidelines of the IHSA organization in addition to upholding the Honor Code of the college. With the Honor Code in mind, the Equestrian Club will expect its members to promote sportsmanship, horsemanship, and academic excellence while providing members with a chance to exercise honesty and self-governance in leadership positions.

COMMITMENT

The Equestrian team trains two days a week at a barn just outside of Jackson and competes in six shows each season.

TRYOUTS

The Equestrian team invites students to join the team at any point during the year. The team welcomes students of all skill levels and those interested in learning how to ride.
